Billing and credits
API requests are paid for with credits. Each operation has a published price, for example one credit per QR code.
Plans
| Plan | Price | Credits | Lifecycle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | 1,000 credits | Resets every calendar month |
| Pro | $20/month | 20,000 credits | Renews each billing period; unused credits expire |
| Business | $50/month | 100,000 credits | Renews each billing period; unused credits expire |
| Enterprise | $200/month | 1,000,000 credits | Renews each billing period; unused credits expire |
| Prepaid credits | $10 one-off | 1,000 credits | Never expires |
Three separate balances
| Balance | Comes from | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| Free monthly | Every workspace, once per calendar month | At the end of the calendar month |
| Subscription | Your plan, once per billing period | At the end of the billing period, when the next allocation is granted |
| Prepaid | Credit packs you buy | Never |
Renewing or changing a subscription never touches prepaid credits.
Consumption order
Each request draws from your balances in this order:
Free monthly → Subscription → Prepaid
Within a type, credits that expire soonest are used first. A request can draw from more than one balance; the usage record shows exactly which.
Example: with 400 free, 10,000 subscription and 5,000 prepaid credits you have 15,400 credits. The next 400 requests use free credits, the following 10,000 use subscription credits, and only then are prepaid credits spent.
What is charged
Only successful requests (HTTP 200) are charged. Before a request runs we reserve its credits atomically; if it fails validation, authentication, rate limiting or generation, the reservation is released and nothing is charged. Concurrent requests can never spend the same credits twice.
When your balances run out, requests return 402 credits_exhausted until credits are added.
Subscriptions
- Subscribe from Dashboard → Billing. Payment is handled by our payment provider; credits are granted only when the provider confirms payment, never by returning from the checkout page.
- Change plan: takes effect immediately. The new plan's allocation replaces the current one and a new billing period starts; the provider prorates the price.
- Cancel: the subscription ends at the end of the current period. Subscription credits expire then; prepaid credits remain.
- Failed payments move the subscription to past due while the provider retries.
Prepaid credits
Buy packs of 1,000 credits from Dashboard → Billing → Credits. The price is set by us on the server; credits appear once the payment provider confirms payment, usually within seconds.
Refunds
If a prepaid purchase is refunded, the unspent part of that purchase is removed from your prepaid balance. Credits already used are not reversed. All changes are recorded in your credit transaction history; past entries are never edited.
Invoices
Every payment produces an invoice in Dashboard → Invoices, with number, period, amounts, tax and payment status.
